Canine Essentials

If your dog knows the basics like Sit, Down, Shake, etc. but struggles with skills like Recall, Loose Leash Walking, Stay/Wait, or greeting new people, then we’ve designed the Canine Essentials Course specifically for you.

In week one, we cover the mechanics of Loose Leash Walking:

Leash holding, correcting unwanted behavior using the leash, limiting pulling,  and rewarding your dog for proper Loose Leash Walking.

In week two, we focused on impulse control:

Wait, Stay, Recall/Come and behavior when guests come to the door. You will learn to read the energy level of your dog and be given the skills to mitigate and focus that energy into proper behavior.

In week three we take the skills learned and put them to work:

Addressing how to properly engage your dog with new people, how to walk by strangers with dogs, and different ways to have new dogs meet each other.

This course comes with weekly detailed handouts for the topics that are covered. You will also have the opportunity to try out different leashes, harnesses, and collars, learning the pros and cons of each.

3 weekly 1 hour classes on Sundays, 10am – 11am.

April class dates: April 21st – May 5th

May class dates: May 19th – June 2nd

$160 – with Handouts

For questions & to register for the Canine Essentials Course, email info@K9toFive.net or call 360-882-5925.

Reactive Rover Training Class K9 to Five Vancouver Washington

Reactive Rover

This is a safe place for dogs and their owners struggling to find balance with stressful stimuli like dogs walking by and seeing new people. I teach helpful techniques to bring the attention of your dog back to you rather than what is across the room. This is not a safe place for bite risk or truly aggressive dogs, so if you have questions about whether or not your dog is ready for this step, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

6 week course runs March 3rd through April 14th (skipping Easter Sunday)   3 – 4 pm
